Vrijheid media in KirgiziŽ

PBI presents another Human Rights Cafe (HRC) with guest speaker Inga Sikorskaia from Kyrgyzstan. Inga is currently our Shelter City guest in Utrecht.

Inga is the program director for the School of Peacemaking and Media Technology. She focuses on countering progaganda of violent extremism, encourages diversity and tries to counter hate speech in the media and on the internet. These topics are however considered sensitive.

Inga will be talking about her work as a journalist and a human rights defender in Kyrgyzstan with a focus on media freedom and hate speech, as there is mounting concern about the threats to media freedom and an urgent need to respect press freedom.

MEET INGA and listen to her story! There will be room for questions and answers afterwards.

There will also be a live Mariachi band!
