19-2-2018 Het Noorse parlementslid Bjørnar Moxnes heeft de door Palestijnen geleide Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions beweging voorgedragen voor de Nobelprijs voor de Vrede. De BDS-beweging wil een rechtvaardige vrede voor het Palestijnse volk afdwingen.

Het parlementslid motiveerde zijn voordracht met: "Awarding this year's Nobel Peace Prize to the BDS movement would be a powerful signal, emphasising the international community's commitment to support a just peace for the Palestinian people... the Israeli people and all people in the Middle East - and the world at large."
